- Increase the number of culturally diverse youth attending college and trade schools
- Participate and sponsor programs that help to enrich the community
Objectives
The objective of the program is to deliver services that will assist each student in improving his/her academic, social and professional standards. The program will provide up to fifty students in eighth through twelfth grades the opportunity to participate in a voluntary after-school program that will augment their academic training. Through leadership training, cultural enrichment, life coaching, and tutoring/mentoring, participating students will be assisted in their transition through high school.
It is expected that a student who successfully completes the program will:
- Remain in school beyond the 9th grade
- Improve their educational achievement each consecutive year
- Increase their participation in extra-curricular activities
- Identify and develop career goals
- Attend post-secondary school
